Wife's Prayer For Husband

Lord God, before You and man I was joined together with my husband and we are now flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone through the holy bonds of matrimony. Therefore I pray for my husband and ask that Your peace and blessings be upon him.
I pray Lord God, that I do no harm to him and that I do not hinder him from the God ordained role of spiritual head of the household. May he flourish in this role and be under subjection to You. May he treat me as Christ would treat me and may I treat him as I would our Lord.
I pray Lord God, for my husband as provider and protector in this marriage. May it please You to use him in both these capacities. May I accept with gratitude this position in which he functions.
I pray Lord God, for my husband's spiritual well-being. May never lose his hunger and thirst for You. May we be supportive of each other's individual walk, and may we join together in unity in worshipping and serving You.
I pray Lord God, for my husband's financial planning decisions. May he receive showers of blessings from You as he makes Godly decisions that will affect us both. May his decisions be wise and appropriate.
I pray Lord God, for my husbands health. I pray that You will keep him in perfect health and that he remain well and whole. When he needs that care taking from me, may I be as supportive, loving and compassionate as I would have him be with me.
I pray Lord God, for my husband's safety. May You place a hedge around him and keep him from harm's way. May Your ministering angels protect him in his time of need.
I pray Lord God, for all other things that affect him. Work, children, friendships, relatives and even recreation. May I serve by his side and see to it that all these areas of his life be lived in harmony.
I pray Lord God, that he might always find me attractive within and outwardly as we keep our marriage alive, through Jesus Christ who brought us together. Amen

Heavenly Father, I come to You as a loving heavenly Parent. You are our Father and I come in confidence asking You to grant blessings upon my earthly parents.
They have always been there for me. They have always loved me. They have always provided for me. I would like to consider their needs now and pray for them.
Lord, as I grow older my interests and time are spent on more than my parents and my relationship with. I pray that You keep me aware of their needs, even when they do not voice them to me. Make me keen in sensing when they might need a loving thought or touch from me.
Lord, I pray that You keep them active and interested in pursuits outside of family life that they may stay emotionally healthy. They have dedicated so many years in raising me and now it is time for them to do things that had to be set aside. May their interests be stimulating and varied and may I support whatever their endeavors are.
Lord, I pray for their marriage. So many other couples drift apart when the families have been raised. I pray that their bond to each other strives and continues to grow. Bless this union and keep them in love with one another.
Lord, I pray for their health. I pray that they will enjoy this period of their life and be given wholeness and wellness from You. Keep them safe from medical maladies and grant them grace as they age.
Lord, I pray for their finances. May they have enough funds to live comfortably. Keep me from burdening their finances. May they have plenty to provide for their needs.
Lord, I pray for their spirituality. I pray for a closer walk with You for them. I pray that they can serve freely in Your Kingdom and have the rewards and blessings of ministry and volunteer services that are pleasing to You.
Lord, I thank You for choosing my parents for me. They are wonderful and I call upon You to bless them and grant them a long productive life. I ask these things in the name of Christ Jesus, our Savior. Amen

Thanksgiving For Answered Prayer

Almighty and powerful God, I come before You to thank You for answering my prayer. I praise You that You should care about mankind and that You should grant us the desire of our hearts.
I am astounded and filled with joy over this favorable answer. I recall when Jesus healed ten lepers and only one returned to thank Him. Let me be numbered with that grateful leper who had his life turned around.
I prayed and I worried, but it was prayer that prevailed. I praise Your holy name for granting me this request. Your mercy is indeed everlasting. Your love of me is overwhelming. Your guidance in my life is remarkable. You showed favor when I such much needed it.
I will honor You by telling others of this great miracle. You made a way when I thought there was no way. You have bestowed Your blessing upon me and I am ever so grateful. I desire to repay You, but I know You addressed this very issue in Job 41:11 "Who hath first given unto Me, that I should repay him? Whatsoever is under the whole heaven is Mine." I will be then as a sweet incense to You in my praise and thanksgiving.
May I magnify Your mighty name. May I honor You. May I never forget the abundant favor displayed by calling upon Your name.
I thank You for all things in life and I am grateful for Your favor in this situation. I know it is through the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ in whom I pray, that You have shown my petition regard. Thank You---Thank You---Thank You. Amen

Christmas Day Prayer (Contemporary)

Lord Jesus, on this Christmas Day to celebrate Your birth we remember this:
You denied Yourself and left Your familiar surrounding of a heavenly Kingdom where You were worshipped and adored by angelic beings, seraphim and cherubim. The elders and living creatures surrounded You and continually sang praises to You. Lamb of God, we raise our voice on this occasion to praise and worship You this day.
God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s love was so strong there---that it illuminated that Great Place. There, You had glory, honor, power, and a Kingdom of peace. You willingly left it all behind so You could be a missionary in a foreign land called the Earth. Lamb of God, we raise our voice to thank You for Your sacrifice on this day.
You allowed Yourself to be born in a humble stall amidst the domestic beasts of the Earth. You came in such haste, that You were wrapped in swaddling clothes and placed in a manger. Lamb of God, we raise our voice on this occasion to thank You for displaying for us what humility is.
Your message was so urgent that God placed a bright and shining star in the East, so that men would see the sign that You had arrived. Lamb of God, we raise our voice on this occasion to thank the shepherds and wise men that witnessed Your birth historically for our sake.
An angel and the great company of the heavenly host praised God and announced this awesome event. Shepherds of the field visited You and rejoiced at Your Presence. Wise Magi brought offerings of their treasures to present to You. They were overjoyed as they bowed down to worship. Lamb of God, we raise our voice on this occasion to bow down and worship You for Your redemption of mankind.
Lamb of God, we recall and recognize that You have shown man Your great love. We thank You this day as we gather with other Christians throughout the world in memory of Your birth. May our prayer and honor please You this day. May this day be set aside as holy and pleasing to You, through Your Holy name. Amen

Christmas Day Prayer (Traditional)

Isa 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Father God, we gather today to celebrate the birth of Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. We recognize Him as the reason for this Christmas day celebration. We unite and gather with people across the world to thank You for the gift of Your Son.
Wonderful Counselor, we thank You that through Your sacrifice we have the mind of Christ. We adore You as we talk of Your wise council for us that have put on Christ.
Mighty God, hallelujah: for the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. We recognize You hold the world and all creation in Your hand. We adore You for the gift of life.
Everlasting Father, Your everlasting power and divinity makes man without excuse for not recognizing Your headship. We adore You that mere mortals may approach Your throne of grace.
Prince of Peace, God did exalt You with His right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to people and remission of sins. We adore You that through Your shed blood we might have forgiveness and redemption.
We thank You Lord, for giving us cause to set aside this day to count our blessings and to celebrate Him who has turned the world upside down and has changed our lives forever. Through the name of Christ who has displayed God with us, we pray. Amen

Lord God Creator, the vocation I have chosen is to care for animals---all creatures great and small. I have applied myself to studies to earn this privilege. I thank You for getting me through these times.
I believe that You have created all life forms. I believe that You have given dominion over animals to man. I believe that You note the master who considers the animal and is kind to it. I come before You in prayer and I ask that You bless my understanding of Your divine plan that animals play a part of in creation.
I am reminded I have chosen to do no harm, and yet I must reason when it is beneficial to end life. I must have the wisdom of Solomon in deciding each individual circumstance. I pray You grant me the gift of wisdom. May the animals' well-being be foremost in the course of treatment or termination of life, and may I honor You and life in the decisions I make.
May the colleagues I work with be like-minded as well as the technicians and even office staff I associate myself with and work side by side daily with. May their understanding and compassion be the standard that You hold us to.
May I balance my love and dedication to animals to the needs of their human owners. May I not pass judgment on those that sour me from this vocation. Some are "parents" and loving. Others should never have taken on the responsibility of a pet. May I work well with the owners mindful that I can only influence; ultimately they often are the decision makers in the next step in treatment. Help me to not only treat animals with wisdom, but their owners with bedside manners.
Lord, bless my hands. Many pets will be made well by these hands. Keep my practice and knowledge in new advances of medical treatment up to date. Help me to recall that not all have the expenses equal to the love for their pet. Help me to be fair in my charges but not burdened. Help me to consider the potential the owner has in providing for expense.
Lord God Creator, I just ask for Your blessings on this career. I just ask for Your help in this vocation. I just ask that I might truly honor You day in and day out in my practice. May it please You to bless my vocation, through Christ Jesus who displayed compassion for all. Amen

Heavenly Father, I never dreamt when I was young of someday having step children. Now I have. I am reminded that Joseph was a step father to Jesus. This comforts me and sets my expectations as to what this glorious privilege might be like.
I am humbled by the opportunities presented to me; and I am fearful of the horror stories I have heard from other blended families. I come in prayer to You and ask that You give me objective and a great balance of love and wisdom.
I pray, Lord give me the love I need.
I pray, Lord give me the patience I need.
I pray, Lord make our family a unit that calls upon Your name.
I pray, Lord that my stepchildren might feel free to call upon me whatever their needs are.
I pray, Lord that these children might be opened to loving me and respecting me as I do them.
I pray, Lord that there not be division or favoritism.
I pray, Lord that my spouse sees the blessings of this union.
I pray, for our harmony and peace.
I pray, Lord that we might be a united witness to Your glory.
I ask these things through Jesus Christ who has shown us the way. Amen

Sunday School Teacher's Prayer

Almighty God, what a treasure You have bestowed upon me to teach Your little ones the name of Jesus Christ. To instruct them in law and grace. To have an impact on building their spiritual life. I am grateful for this opportunity.
I can not take the parent's place in instructing the child, but I can make an impact on this young life. I can present to them the living, loving Christ for a brief time each week. I can make my lessons alive and compelling, and this is what I pray You will enable me to do.
Lord, there are so many things that pull at our children's attention. Technology has amused our children like no other time since the creation of the world. Gameboy's, and video's, computer's and ipod's, I can barely keep up with what our young ones are spending their time and recreation on now. I am not saying the Sunday School is meant to be an hour's worth of amusement, but I ask that You keep me relevant to their needs and keep me updated as to how I can always proclaim the Gospel of Christ in a fashion that will not just grab their attention, but plant a seed that they will always remember.
Lord, keep our time together peaceful. May the children learn the Golden Rule.
Lord, keep our crafts interesting that the child might want to display and save them.
Lord, let the children learn something new about You that they might want to share it with their parents and friends.
Lord, keep me patient and faithful as I teach each week. I want the best for these children, as I know You do. Grace me and bless our Sunday School class, through Christ Jesus that called the young children to come unto Him. Amen

Prayer For Wayward (Prodigal) Child

Heavenly Father, I come before You on behalf of my child who has forsaken the way, the truth, the light. I am reminded of the parable taught by Jesus and most widely preached by churches, "The Prodigal Son." It gives us example, instruction and hope. Luk 15:20 "And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet afar off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him."
Lord, I am torn with following this example. I am weary with waiting. But I love my child and I have hope that they will return to You and give up their wayward life.
They have not only strayed from the Christianity I have taught them, but have also rejected the morals that comes with following You. They are blatantly out of Your will and living in sin and I am at wit's end with worry, and exhausted with patience.
We are always taught to hate the sin and love the sinner. Lord God, that fits me to a tee right now. Nothing I say seems to break through to my child. Nothing I do seems to persuade them to return to their senses. All I have to cling to is my trust in You, and in Your Word that declares, Pro 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, And even when he is old he will not depart from it."
I chose to cling to the examples You have left in Scripture for us.
I choose to believe that they shall repent.
I choose to believe that they are soul searching as I pray right now.
I choose to believe that the Holy Spirit is dealing with them, even as I see no evidence.
I choose to believe You indeed work all together for good for those that love You and are called by Your name.
I choose to believe that You have heard my prayer and are working to bring it to fruition for my child.
Please watch over them as I await their joyful return to the fold, through Jesus Christ the Good Shepherd. Amen

Husband's Prayer For Wife

Father God, you have blessed me so abundantly by providing me with a wife who is exactly right for me. Long before we knew each other, You knew us and knew that we were meant to be husband and wife. Your plan was fulfilled to perfection on the day we were married.
Father, strengthen my wonderful wife and bless her daily with the joy of Your presence.
Keep her safe by surrounding her with Your hedge of protection.
Clothe her daily with Your armor and prepare her for each day’s battle that she may enjoy the victory that is hers through the blood of Christ.
Give my wife the wisdom she needs to perform on her job and be a witness for You.
Lord, I thank you so much for all my wife does for me and our family. Thank you that she is my companion, my helpmate, and my best friend.
In Jesus name, Amen.
