Almighty God, I am weary and I long for sleep to come to me. I read in Your Word, Psa 4:8" In peace will I both lay me down and sleep; For Thou, Jehovah, alone makes me dwell in safety." I also read, Psa 127:2 "For so he gives unto his beloved sleep."
I need You, Lord to grant me a period of sleep that I might be rested. I try to close my eyes to sleep and my mind is so active it prevents me. I know that lack of sleep weakens me both physically and mentally and that I do not perform well. I know I have responsibilities to be met, and that I cannot be alert to them without rest and refreshment.
I pray Lord, in this quiet time that You ease my mind from this overload of stress and burden, that I might be able to shut my eyes and fall asleep. I am restless, yet I claim the Scripture that You give Your beloved sleep, and that I do lie down in safety.
Lord God, just speaking with You eases my spirit. I pray for sweet sleep that will follow this sweet conversation. Help me to quiet myself long enough for Your blessing of sleep to overtake me.
I thank You, Lord for allowing me to lean on You and to unburden my heart. Send to me Thy gentle Holy Spirit to hover over me while I sleep. May He protect me in this state, and grant me total refreshment when I awaken.
I thank You, Lord that we can bring all our requests to You, and I thank You that You foresaw this need by recording an encouragment in Scripture for me. Grant me Your rest through Christ Jesus in whom I put my trust. Amen

Prayer For Undiagnosed Illness

God, our Father and Healer, how I need You right now. I have an undiagnosed illness. The doctors can not pinpoint it based on my symptoms and tests run. My patience is running short. My emotional state is erratic. My expenses are mounting. I have no relief from my illness. I am at wit's end.
Yet, I know that with God all things are possible. I know that You who have created my body and who has even numbered the hairs on my head, know what this illness is. I know that where medical science fails, You are ready to show Yourself strong on behalf of the weak. You are ready to receive our praise and honor and worship, for You alone are worthy.
God, our Father and Healer, I ask You now for a touch upon my body. My name is graven on Your palms and I pray that Your outstretch hand will cure me. I pray for Your favor and healing from this affliction which no one can name. I pray for Your touch to ease this burden and restore my health. I pray that all the healers and medical personnel that have witnessed my aliment might be astounded by Your touch. I pray for wholeness that You alone can bring me. I pray that others will marvel at the God Creator that I serve.
May it please You loving Father to restore unto me wellness and remedy me from this affliction. I will walk in faith to receive this request. I will do what is necessary on my part to have this relief granted to me. I know that it is by the stripes of Christ that we are healed. Heal me, Almighty God through Jesus Christ alone. Amen

Prayer During Absence From Loved Ones

Lord God, I am separated from my loved ones and worry so. I fear for their health, their safety, their well-being. It is difficult to be apart from them and I am uncertain of how well they will be taking care of themselves. I am anxious that they are far from my watchful eye.
I recall in Scripture, when Jacob's father-in-law said, (Gen 31:49) "Jehovah watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another."
Lord God, I ask You to watch over my loved ones in my absence. I ask You to help me to trust You and lay this burden down at the foot of the cross. I know that You will guide them in all their decisions and keep them under the shelter of Your everlasting arms. I know that You will perfect that which concerns us.
May my loved ones find peace in Your Presence and comfort in Your Fatherly love.
May You keep me mindful to pray without ceasing for them.
May You help me not to use this distance as an excuse to not keep in touch or to do random acts of kindness.
May it please You Lord to watch over us until we can be re-united again. In Jesus' name I pray and place my trust. Amen

Prayer Before Attending Church

Holy God, as I prepare to attend Your House of Worship today, I want to make sure that my heart is pure and my past is forgiven.
Lord God, I don't believe You hold against our account when the last visit was. What I believe You look for is how our hearts are prepared to enter this church and to give ourselves totally over to You in worship, praise and prayer.
I ask You to forgive my sins and cleanse me.
I ask You to soften my heart that I might hear Your Word.
I ask You to make me a participator and not just an observer.
I ask You that You grace me with the Holy Spirit that I might fully appreciate this privilege of bowing before You.
I ask that I might not only come to take, but also to give to others who see You today.
I ask that You bless me and this experience.
I ask that I might not leave these doors without being a better person.
I ask that You hide this experience in my heart that I might become a stronger, able-bodied child in Your Kingdom.
I ask that You put a strong desire in my heart to return again.
Bless those that serve within this church and allow them with humbleness to know how much they are appreciated for ministering here with open doors for others. Thank You, Holy God, for the freedom to gather and the freedom to worship You, through the sacrifice of our Savior, Christ Jesus. Amen

Prayer For Worship Leaders

Heavenly Father, you are worthy of our praise, our worship, and our adoration.
We thank you for our Worship Leaders, those in our churches, our prayer groups, our bible studies, even our own homes. Thank You that they are willing to use this talent to draw our attention to You where it belongs. You have called this select group of people and given them the talent to be able to direct people’s hearts and minds to focusing on You and worshiping You.
Bless our Worship Leaders as they serve you in this vital ministry, Dear Lord.
Give them strength and wisdom to be able to direct and choose music that brings You honor and glory.
Soften the hearts of those under their direction to be open to You and to truly worship You in spirit and in truth.
Worthy, you are worthy Lord to receive honor and glory and power forever. Thank You for these dear servants and bless their hearts and they lead and participate in the worship of Your Holy Name.
In Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer Before Bible Study

Jer 15:16 "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy words were unto me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God of hosts."
I come into Your Presence, O Holy God, as I prepare to study Your Word. I rejoice as Jeremiah did that I am called by Your name. May You grant that this Bible study time be a joy and a rejoicing of my heart as I learn to digest Your Word.
Grant me illumination that I may know Your thoughts and desires rather than by rote memorize Your Word.
Grant me retention that I might hide your Word in my heart.
Make me inclined to investigate and discover.
Prepare me to minister in power through Thy Word.
Prevent me from ever wielding the Word wrongly upon another person.
Help me to come and reason together with You. May I hear Your voice only by interpretation.
May I know Your Word inside and ought so that with patience I might teach others Scripture.
Convict me and cleanse me of any hidden sins that through ignorance of Scripture I might have committed against You.
Make me comfortable in my prayer life and understanding of Your Word so that I might pray the Scriptures and be in Your will.
Holy Spirit, enable me in this session to digest the meat of God. Grow me away from the milk and enable to be an able bodied Christian who is able to discern the Word with wisdom. May there be no ulterior motive within me than to glorify You. I ask in the name of Christ Jesus, who as a young child astonished others in the Temple with His familiarity and understanding of Thy Word. Amen

Prayer Before Dental Appointment

Psalm 81:10 "For I am the LORD thy God,which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: Open wide thy mouth and I will fill it."
Lord God, I am looking for relief and comfort through You before I go to my dental appointment. I found this appropriate verse that describes perfectly what I am facing today, and I receive that as a love letter from You.
Lord God, I have such fear and trembling before I even arrive in the dentist's office. I fear the exam, the needles, the drill, the whole time spent with him. I have not had good experiences in the past and it has caused me dread to keep this appointment.
Lord God, I will never forget Your exhortation to be strong and of good courage. May You grant me that as I approach this appointment.
Lord God, calm my nerves and erase my fear.
Lord God, might it be settled in my heart that this is necessary.
Lord God, make this dentist one who firmly believes in painless dentistry.
Lord God, may this dentist be considerate of my fragile state of mind.
Lord God, may he be gentle with me foremost, but also cause me no more treatment than that which is necessary.
Lord God, may I accept his advice for treatment and be brave enough to follow through.
Lord God, may I be capable of meeting this expense.
Lord God, may I take better care of my dental health that I might be spared from further complications.
Please dear Lord, be with me today and calm me in this necessary procedure. Help me to overcome my fears, and to be a good witness for Christ Jesus, as I hope my dentist is likewise. I ask in the name of Christ Jesus who promises to be with me always. Amen

Holy Spirit, You are called our Paraclete, meaning our Helper. You help in so many ways: The Holy Spirit helps teaching all things, intercession in prayer, bringing the Word to our remembrance, telling us of things to come, revealing to us the things of God, comforting us, encouraging us, empowering us to be a witness, bringing life and healing to us, and yes, even helping us to locate lost items as Scripture displays: Luk 15:9 "And when she had found it, she called together her friends and neighbors, saying, rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I had lost."
I desire, Lord to find a lost item. I can not recall exactly where I misplaced it and I cannot quite retrace my steps. But I rejoice in knowing You alone know where this item is. I rejoice in knowing You alone can restore it to me.
I recall the woman who swept her house in that Scripture to find what had been lost to her. Help me, Lord to sweep not only my house, but my mind to recall the last place I have seen it at. And Lord, if nothing can come to me, may someone else find it and restore to me. It has value and meaning and I desire to reclaim it.
For some this might be a whimsical prayer, but I know that with You all things are possible. I know that which was lost can be again found.
I ask You to help me find this item, and I proclaim that I will tell others of how and why this item was returned to me--to Your glory.
I thank You Lord, that Your mercies and favor are fresh each day, and that I might turn to You in all things, through the name of Christ Jesus. Amen

Father God, we are called in all sincerity to lift up the name of Jesus Christ and to proclaim it before all people. An opportunity arises in a quite unusual setting. It is a court case that I find myself concerned and quite nervous about.
I ask Your Presence go with me and be apparent to all that attend this hearing. We do not know the outcome, but we do know that we are to let our light in Christ shine before all men. For this reason I humbly ask You to make me a vessel of truth. May I have poise as I go to this appearance and may I only speak the words You authorize.
May truth and justice be with me this day.
May Jesus be there as my advocate.
May fairness in this trial prevail.
May the case be completed expediently.
May I not slip through the cracks of the justice system.
May those that judge this case know You and judge with Godliness.
Enable me in the name of Christ Jesus to get through this court case and in return, accept Your will by praising You that nothing apart from Your expressed will for me shall prevail. Amen

Prayer For Sale Of A House

Lord God, my home has served me well and I am grateful for the memories that are here. It is now necessary to sell my house and I turn to Your help to make this transaction happen.
I know the house is not perfect. I know a seller's market right now is not favorable. But I do know that You can bring a buyer, a perfect match to this house and see that the sale goes through.
Help me Lord, to do all that is necessary to prepare the house for sale.
Help me Lord, to get a fair price.
Help me Lord, to get a sale within a reasonable frame of time.
Help me Lord, to negotiate if need be.
Help me Lord, to work through the closing papers so there be no snags.
Help me Lord, to trust You fully for this answer to prayer and to glorify You when the sale goes through.
Help me Lord, to re-invest the proceeds from the sale wisely.
I ask this request through Your Son, Jesus who Scripture proclaims had no where to lay His head. May it please Him to bless this sale. Amen
